Over the past few months, I’ve lost track of how many members have said, “Wouldn’t it be amazing if we had our own dedicated pickleball facility?”
Well, I couldn’t agree more. And today, I’m beyond excited to share with you that this dream is no longer just wishful thinking—it’s a real, tangible opportunity.
We are on the verge of something game-changing for us as a club. We're very close to taking a major step toward establishing our very own pickleball home—a premier facility built for us, by us in our backyard! Introducing…

A place where we won’t have to fight for court time, no-more worrying about last minute permit cancellations, no more low ceilings or wonky flooring and everything else we've endured over these four years.
It will be our shared place to play the game we love whenever we want, year-round. A nice warm-place in the winter and comfortably cool in the summer --- most importantly it's going to be a place that brings our pickleball community together like never before!
What This Facility Will Offer - Picture this:
🏆 Five state-of-the-art courts—top-quality surfaces, ample space, and professional-level lighting for the best playing experience possible.
👟 Court specs—each court will have PPA pro-grade court surfacing, side panel lighting, recommend spacing and will be fully gated so no stray balls are entering your court!
🏗️Over 20 feet high ceilings—to accommodate the occasional lob 😉 and high shots, ensuring optimal playability and a professional playing experience.
👀 A mezzanine viewing area— to just hang out or watch a bunch of epic matches taking place down below.
🛍️ A pro shop—so you can grab the latest paddles, apparel, and accessories without having to travel far.
💪Training area - a space for additional training modalities to help prevent injuries and improve your game.
🚗 Plenty of parking—no more circling for a spot or trekking across a massive lot, parking just steps from the entrance.

This new space will be centrally located, ensuring easy access for players from our core neighborhoods, including Bloor West Village, The Junction, Roncesvalles, and St. Clair.
For those loyal members traveling from further east or west, the facility is conveniently positioned with quick highway access via a direct route down Black Creek Drive, making it simple to get to the courts and into the game!
It's at 501 Alliance Ave. in what was previously the Cooper Sports Equipment factory.
How We Make it Happen...
Here’s the reality: commercial real estate in Toronto West isn’t cheap. That’s why we’re seeing pickleball facilities popping up just outside the GTA or in the fringes instead of in our own backyard.
But what if we changed that?
What if we, as a passionate pickleball community, decided that we want this, and more importantly—we’re willing to step up and make it happen?
Well, that’s exactly the opportunity I'm presenting. A great location has been identified, agreements are in place with the landlord and suppliers, and everything is lining up. But to officially launch this project, we need a strong commitment from you, our TWPC members.

Questions You May Have...
🔹 Do I have to pay court fees if I'm a founding member?
Because of the cost of commercial space in our neighborhood a membership fee plus a court fee is standard practice to make the facility financially viable, however you will have 20% off for a period of 14 months (3 day in advance booking to regular members). Standard court fee rates will be $32 prime time and $24 non-prime time hours.
🔹 How will court fee's compare to other locations?
Our court fees will be similar to those at The Jar, ensuring competitive pricing for a premium playing experience. While we may not match the lower fees of facilities farther away—where lease rates are significantly cheaper—we offer exceptional value. Our courts are designed for top-tier playing experience, featuring spacious layouts, high ceilings, and individually fenced courts to enhance your experience. Plus, with our convenient location, you'll spend less time commuting and more time playing!
🔹 Can I rent courts if I'm not a member?
If courts are available yes you can but it will be at much higher rates (TBD)
🔹 Can I put my membership on hold?
Whether you travel or, God forbid, you get injured, we will allow for a one-time up to 2-month hold on your membership.
🔹 What if I change my mind?
If you change your mind and we have a waiting list (which I suspect we will), then of course, we will refund you 100%. However, if we don’t have a waitlist and all the paperwork is signed then your contribution will not be refundable but you can transfer it to someone else.
🔹 What happens if I send the funds and the deal doesn't go through?
In this case, your deposit will be 100% refunded—no questions asked. But we won't ask for your funds until we have the numbers that we need to make it happen.
🔹 What if I send the money and Gad takes off to Ecuador and we never see him again?
I can assure you that my wife would hunt me down, have a few friendly men drag me deep into the Amazon, have me beaten and flogged, and then personally ensure that every last penny is returned to you—with interest! 😂
In all seriousness, this project means everything to me, but its success ultimately depends on our collective commitment. I’m dedicated to making it happen in a financially responsible way, but for The TWP Centre (name to be determined) to become a reality, we need the support of those who truly want it.
